Lipstick Queen Jean Queen Lipstick review and swatches

This was the other Lipstick Queen item I got for Christmas and again, I'm really impressed. Apparently it was designed to be the perfect lipstick to wear with jeans, and although I personally I have never had an issue with finding a lipstick to wear with my denim, I am happy this product exists, whatever the reason for it.

Lipstick Queen Jean Queen Lipstick

Lipstick Queen Jean Queen - £15
It is a fairly sheer rosy pink that I imagine would flatter most skin tones. It applies easily and looks almost glossy when on. I have really dry chapped lips, literally I end up having to buff off at least two layers of skin every morning, and this is very soothing and comfortable to wear, probably because of the vitamin E it contains. In texture and finish I think it is most similar to the Butterfly Ball range, it doesn't have that balm like feel of Medieval.

I can tell that I am going to get a lot of wear from this lipstick as I can't carry of nudes and this is one step up from that look. It seems I am not the only one who thinks this way as it was out of stock on www.spacenk.com for a good while. A great staple and very useful on those days when makeup is the last thing you want to do is think about makeup.

  1. Beautiful color! Did you get the gloss as well?
I bought this for a friend but didn't get it for myself... I didn't know if it would be too *pink* on me but clearly it's lovely. Poppy makes some wonderful lip products- I'm going to go locate my Butterfly Ball and wear that.

Thanks for the wonderful review! x jeanie

  3. Like the new layout and design Jennifer. I found this a bit on the bright raspberry side of wearable - liked the texture and the look but sadly the result was a bit too jam like for me. Looks very nice on you though. Jan x

  4. Hi Jeanie,
No I didn't get the gloss, but I might in the future. I first saw the lipstick on Grace's blog,I think you got them for her? I was determined ever since to get it! I am beyond impressed with Lipstick Queen, I would love to be able to see the shades in store rather than just online. I think it is definitely a muted pink so am sure it would work for you X

Hi luv2smilexo, thanks for commenting. I can definitely see Lipstick Queen becoming one of my favourite brands!

    Hi Jan,
You noticed! I'm really pleased with the layout, I'd meant to do it for ages but was concerned I'd do it wrong and wipe all my posts etc. The irritating thing is that my title picture won't fit right across the screen, my nexttask is to try to remedy that. I think all these lip colours depend so much on your natual lip colour, as I think mine is quite dark, Jean Queen tones it down a bit so it becomes more muted. I don't browns because they clash so much with my natural lip so the end result looks a bit false X
